Bling!

I added some ornaments to the top section of the tree.  I discovered I am missing two of the threads I need for this project.  I have a feeling they are in a bag somewhere in my mess but it will be much easier to make a run to my LNS and get more.  :)  This ribbon braid is fussy and each stitch has to be laid smooth.  My trolley needle is getting quite a workout.  The missing ornaments in this section will be in a glittery green.  So far I have "hung" red, gold and purple ornaments.

I stitched a bit on my Hometown  Holiday Main Street Station piece.  Then printed out all the stitch directions released so far for the Save the Stitches blackwork piece.  I haven't actually started stitching on that one.  I need to get started on it so I can keep up with it as it's a monthly stitchalong.

Well, that's today's progress.  Tomorrow I have an afternoon meeting, so I won't have as much time to stitch.  Maybe I can start "hanging" ornaments on the next tree section.

Monday's progress

I made a bit of progress today.  It doesn't look like much, but I had to deal with a repairman visit and get laundry done.  Plus this part of the stitching requires more counting.  I think I will start adding some color and sparkle tomorrow to the top two sections.

Olympic Project

I have chosen to work on Laura J. Perin's Christmas Tree 2011 during the Olympics.  I got a late start since I was attending the American Quilter's Society show last week in Phoenix.  I went Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and had a blast.  Took three classes.  Learned a lot.  Saw some beautiful quilts on display.  Spent some money at the vendor booths.  Ran into some friends I haven't see in a long time.  All in all, a great time!

This is the progress I made on the tree yesterday.  I taped all the Olympic shows so I could catch up.  It's been fun avoiding the news so I don't hear about wins until I can see them for myself.  I like the suspense!  lol  Once the morning news program is over, I will get back to watching the games and stitching.  It's always a good thing when your stitching intersections match up where they are supposed to.

Finished!

It's finished!  The color is off, took the picture with my cell phone.  It's actually an off-white background, white flowers and the words are light, medium and dark pink.  I was supposed to do a second one, but my friend asked for it back to do herself.  Have to admit, I am kind of glad to be free to do other projects, but if she needs help with it, I will certainly be available for her.  The french knots in the flower centers were a bear to do.  It was hard pulling two threads through the fabric.  The needle that came with the kit was way too big so I got my own needles in a smaller size.  I will give her one of those to work with.

Tomorrow I go to the American Quilter's Society seminar in Phoenix.  I am volunteering at a booth tomorrow.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday I am taking quilt classes.  It will be a fun rest of the week!
