My Cowboy

This is a picture of my very own cowboy. :) It was taken this past Saturday at Empire Ranch. You can see more about the event at www.empireranchfoundation.org/Rndup.htm. Dh and friends have been going there for this event the past few years, dressing as 1880s cowboys and chatting up the tourists. Dh was Mr. June (with another picture) in a 2010 calendar, which was great. Needless to say, he quit turning the calendar pages once we got to June. lol

Look what my hubby made me!

He has taken up leather work as a hobby and made a few belts and knife sheaths. He decided he wanted to make me something, so he bought a purse kit from Tandy Leather and stamped and embossed the leather, dyed it and stitched the whole thing together. I think he did a great job!

Is it winter yet????? Think it's time to move to Austrailia! Sigh. Summers get harder and harder on me here in the desert. I am not a fan of triple digit temps, especially since we don't have central air, only a window unit in the bedroom for sleeping. But August is almost over, so things should start improving slowly come September.

Finished!

I actually finished a project! I did most of this while watching the Winter Olympics. The first time that I was home all day and could watch everything. I really enjoyed it, although dh was not thrilled. A little goes a long way for him! lol Anyhow, this is for my sister Lois who is an avid quilter. I love quilting also, but do enjoy my needlework. I will leave this project for her to mount and frame to her taste. :) It's called Amish Trip Around the World. It was done on 18c monocanvas. I'm thinking of trying it on a 28c linen with DMC floss just to see. Hmmmmm.

Arizona in the Spring

We went 4-wheeling two weeks ago to see the spring flowers. I think it's my favorite time of year here. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, and the flowers were just amazing. I don't think most people realize how beautiful the desert can be. Hope you enjoy!I have been trying to import photos but cannot choose where they go within the post, so guess I will add pictures one at a time. Sigh.

I have two followers! Thanks, ladies! Maybe that will help inspire me to post more often. :)

Well, since I started this blog 2 years ago, I have posted all of 5 times! My goodness, I am prolific! rofl

I love viewing other blogs and am amazed at how well put together they are and how well the creators write. Oh, if only I could be that good!

I will try to post more often and even include more pics of what is going on in my life. What needlework projects I am working on. How I am spending my time now that I am not working outside the home.

Which reminds me, I need to get down to the SS office and apply for SS so it will start coming when I turn 62 in May. How cool to get paid for staying home! I love it! :)
